RUN NO.1316
VENUE: RIPPON TOR HARE:SPIDERMAN
ON DOWN: RUGGLESTONE
Spiderman had laid a super trail especially for the super-fast youngsters, and some long loops for the slower ones to keep up with them. Unfortunately, it was like the song. “The You-oung Ones, what about the You-oung Ones?” who were alas nowhere to be seen. It was the old and hardy hashers and harriettes who turned up for this one, you know, the likes of Anonymouse, Yakkidah, Rover, Donkey, Dishy, Endo, HT2, Guinness, Hamish, Ollie, and – surprise, surprise, Wimpers fresh back from NZ. Snakehips drove up, took one look at this veteran group and drove away to join Mrs Wimpers at the inn.

It was not to be, on on we went up to Cold East Cross, over the road and then all the way up Rippon Tor where at last sustenance was portioned out.
Sweetened up, there was a superb run down from the top of the tor, with the setting sun casting black shadows into Widecombe valley where we could at last yield to the magnetic allure of the beer. It was nine o’clock when we finished the run so Spiderman blamed all the missing Young Ones for not being there to get the rest of us to run more quickly but we had all had a lovely outing with glorious scenery and nobody had mislaid their zimmer-frame so all was well and Thank You Spiderman for a long and scenic trail.
ON! ON! Horse Trough Mark 2 aka HT2 aka HTT aka HT Too aka HT Two
